The family of a Howell man who received a brain injury when he fell two stories from a house in New Brunswick when a banister broke under his weight is suing the city of New Brunswick and the landlord of the building. If you or someone you love has been injured on someone else’s property, the Howell personal injury attorneys may be able to help.
The accident occurred in 2008, while the man was visiting a friend in New Brunswick. He was leaning on a railing when it broke, causing him to topple down two stories, landing on the concrete ground head-first. The 19-year-old man received serious injuries, including brain damage that necessitated putting him in a medical coma.
Although he has made an astounding recovery, the process has been long and difficult. The family is planning to sue New Brunswick, which had failed to notice any of the many structural problems with the house, as well as the landlord for the property.
