Woman killed in pedestrian accident on Route 46

Police said Tuesday that a woman in her 30s was killed in a pedestrian accident on Route 46 in Parsipanny.
The woman was crossing Route 46 from her apartment complex to a gas station when a westbound vehicle struck her. A police officer that was also heading in the direction, witnessed the crash and stopped to offer assistance, but the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
No citations have been issued to the driver at this time while the investigation is underway. Last year, there was 157 pedestrian deaths in New Jersey.

A woman from Andover Township struck and injured to people in a pedestrian accident last week.
According to officials, the accident occurred when the 23-year-old woman was heading eastbound down the roadway and did not see the two 21-year-old pedestrians that were in the crosswalk. One of the pedestrians suffered from injuries to his head and face and was transported to the hospital for treatment.
The woman driving was cited with careless driving and failure to yield to pedestrians in a marked crosswalk. The woman said the pedestrians dark clothing and the poor weather conditions contributed to the accident.

Man turns himself in after NJ hit-and-run accident

A man has turned himself in after a hit-and-run pedestrian accident in New Jersey.
The 26-year-old man of Saylorsburg was traveling on Route 519 when he struck the 15-year-old pedestrian and then fled the scene.
The man has been charged with tampering with evidence, assault by leaving the scene of an accident where bodily injury occurred, leaving the scene of an accident and failure to report an accident. He was arrested and released on a $50,000 bail. The investigation into the incident is underway.
