An elderly couple was killed after a one-car accident on Palisades Parkway on Sunday.

The accident occurred as the 81-year-old man driving the car lost control of it for reasons that are not known yet. The man’s car hit a wooden median which then launched it into a tree.

Emergency crews pronounced the man dead at the scene and the 79-year-old woman, who was riding in the passenger seat was transported to the hospital. The woman was later pronounced dead from injuries that were sustained in the accident.
